Circus SE Completes R&D Phase, Set to Launch AI-Powered Food Production Robots Globally in 2025

Circus SE (XETRA: CA1) published its audited financial results for fiscal year 2024 today, marking a significant milestone in the transition of the company from the research and development (R&D) phase to commercial deployment. The report reflects the successful industrialization of the CA-1 robot, a key product that positions Circus SE at the forefront of AI-powered robotics for food production. The 2024 fiscal year saw the culmination of a multi-year R&D initiative, which included the industrialization of Circus SE's AI-powered robotics system, CA-1. The company has entered into a scalable serial production partnership with Celestica, a global manufacturing leader with facilities in 16 countries. This partnership ensures Circus SE can meet the demands of its enterprise clients, who each require anywhere from several hundred to thousands of units. The initial production facility is capable of manufacturing up to 6,000 CA-1 units annually, starting with deliveries scheduled for fall 2025. Circus SE is the first company globally to offer AI-powered robotics for industrial-scale food production. The patented CA-1 robot is designed to deliver high-reliability meal outputs with minimal human intervention, powered by the company's advanced embodied AI technology. This represents a transformative shift from manual manufacturing to automated, industrial-scale production, setting the stage for substantial growth in the years to come. During the 2024 R&D phase, Circus SE also introduced a second product line: the CA-M, an autonomous robot-assisted provisioning system tailored for military and security-critical applications. Shortly after its launch in June 2025, the CA-M achieved full accreditation as a supplier for U.S. government agencies and the Department of Defense. As anticipated, no revenue was generated during the 2024 fiscal year, which was dedicated entirely to the R&D phase. The company reported an EBITDA of EUR -11,915 thousand, aligning with previous financial guidance. The majority of the funds were allocated to technology development for both the CA-1 and CA-M, as well as to establishing robust manufacturing capabilities and preparing for production. Looking ahead to the 2025 fiscal year, Circus SE projects initial revenues in the single-digit million euro range. These revenues are expected to come from high-profile clients in the mobility and retail sectors, including REWE, Tamoil (HEM), and the Mangal Group. Deliveries of the CA-1 are set to commence in autumn 2025, with recurring software revenues anticipated from the fourth quarter onwards. Additionally, the defense division is poised to generate revenue earlier than initially planned, potentially within the current financial year. Circus SE is committed to building a global infrastructure for autonomous food supply, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiency and reliability in the food production industry. Headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company is spearheading innovations that aim to revolutionize how food is produced and supplied, with a mission to fuel humanity through automation and AI.
