Miso Partners with Roboworx to Enhance Restaurant Automation with Flippy Fry Stations

Miso, a leader in restaurant technology and AI kitchen automation, has entered into a partnership with Roboworx, a robot field service organization, to provide installation, maintenance, and ongoing support for Miso’s Flippy Fry Stations. This collaboration aims to deliver robust and reliable automation solutions to restaurant operators, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational challenges. The restaurant industry continues to face significant labor shortages and operational hurdles, making automation a crucial strategy for improvement. Miso’s Flippy Fry Station robots, powered by proprietary Kitchen AI, are designed to automate the cooking of fried foods like French fries, onion rings, chicken, and tacos. These tasks are often undesirable and hazardous, contributing to high turnover rates among kitchen staff. By handling them with precision and consistency, Flippy not only improves safety but also allows for greater labor flexibility, as the robot can be operated by employees under 18, adhering to federal regulations. Rebecca Davis, VP of Operations at Miso Robotics, emphasized the importance of delivering immediate value: “Our goal at Miso is to provide ‘day one ROI’ to our customers through reliable, intelligent automation. To achieve this on a larger scale, we needed a partner with extensive robotics expertise and a wide national reach. Roboworx’s proven capabilities and technical acumen make them the perfect fit.” Miso operates under a robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) model, offering Flippy Fry Stations with no upfront costs and a monthly subscription fee that is generally lower than hiring a full-time employee. Currently, Flippy Fry Stations are in use at 20 locations, including popular chains like Jack in the Box and White Castle, with additional weekly deployments planned until the end of September. The partnership with Roboworx will cover both new installations and the maintenance of the existing system base. Roboworx’s team of field service technicians will lead deployments, perform preventative maintenance, provide on-demand service, and conduct regular customer success assessments. This approach ensures that each Flippy Fry Station is deployed and maintained to the highest standards, allowing Miso to concentrate on technological advancements. Jeff Pittelkow, Managing Director of Roboworx, highlighted the synergy between the two companies: “Miso’s automation platform is powerful and user-friendly, but complex systems demand knowledgeable support to unleash their full potential. As the service backbone of Miso’s nationwide rollout, we are setting a new standard in restaurant automation, ensuring that our partners and their customers achieve optimal results.” This partnership is significant for the broader restaurant technology landscape. According to industry insiders, the integration of advanced robotics and reliable service support is essential for the adoption and scalability of automated kitchen solutions. The labor-saving and safety-enhancing benefits of Flippy fry stations are particularly attractive in an industry facing persistent staffing issues. Experts predict that this collaboration could accelerate the integration of AI and robotics in restaurants, potentially leading to more innovative and efficient technologies in the future. Miso Robotics, founded with the mission to transform the food service industry, has already made significant strides with its Flippy Fry Stations. These robots not only improve operational efficiency but also enhance food quality and reduce waste. Roboworx, known for its expertise in robot service and maintenance across various sectors, further solidifies the reliability and usability of Miso’s offerings. Together, they are poised to set a new benchmark in the rapidly evolving field of food technology.
